Club Rules
Grounds
It is our responsibility to keep the grounds clean and tidy.
Parking
Please do not block driveways or obstruct the road unnecessarily and please do not double park at anytime.
Out of Bounds:
Climbing on the Amenities Block, the rocks behind the Amenities Block and the Water Tower is forbidden.
Spike Running Shoes:
May only be worn by athletes from the under 9’s and above
and then in events that are conducted entirely in lanes plus the jumps. Any athlete
in events, which have pack starts, may not wear them. For safety reasons, our
centre does not allow the wearing of spike running shoes other than at the start
of an event and they must be removed at the conclusion of that event. Spike running
shoes must not be worn when the athlete is moving from one event to another. Spike
running shoes should be covered with an old tea or hand towel and then enclosed
in a spike bag. This practice will stop the spikes from striking out through the
bag and scratching somebody. Both the spike running shoes and the bag should have
the owners name clearly marked on them.
Starting Blocks:
May be used by all athletes, if desired. Starting blocks should be clearly marked with the athletes name and retrieved by the owner as
soon as the event is completed.
Footwear:
Must be worn in all Association carnivals. Our Centre has decided
that appropriate footwear must be worn in all events conducted at A H Whaling
Reserve on all occasions. No exceptions will be considered in this matter. This
decision has been based on safety reasons.
Long and Triple Jump:
Sand covered boards are 0.5 x 1.0m rectangle in size
for long and triple jumps up to and including the U12 age groups. Please note
that the U6 and U7 age groups have a sand covered board 0.5m back from the sand
pit. U8 to U12 age groups inclusive have a sand covered board 1.0m back from the
sand pit. This concept is to encourage the child to be more concerned with jumping
technique and improvement rather than the precision of the run-up. A jump is measured
from the toe mark on the sand to the nearest edge of the landing mark in the jump
pit. A jump that does not make an imprint on the sand but is behind the sand covered
boards shall be measured from the back of the board in a perpendicular direction
to the nearest edge of the landing mark in the jump pit.
800m Run Events:
Shall be conducted in lanes as far as the end of the first bend with 2 competitors occupying each lane.
All events:
Are conducted under the rules of competition of the Little Athletics
Association of NSW Inc. Further details maybe obtained by contacting a member
of your committee.
